SAVE the DATE: Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration Day Set for Friday, March 6
Cabell County Schools is excited to welcome new students and families into our school community during the upcoming Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration Day to be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 8:30-11:30am and 12:30-2:30pm at all local elementary schools and collaborative community PreK programs. This special event provides families with the opportunity to take the first steps in their children’s educational journeys and learn more about our high-quality Pre-K and Kindergarten programs, offered free of charge. With a priority on exploration, growth, and fun, our highly skilled, caring teachers are dedicated to creating positive, supportive learning experiences where every child can succeed.
During this fun event, families will have an opportunity to meet school staff and teachers, complete an enrollment packet, and tour the school. Students are welcome to attend with their families. Additional events, specially designed to help students get to know their teachers, classrooms, and new friends, will be planned closer to the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year.
In addition to tuition-free Pre-K and Kindergarten programs, Cabell County Schools also provides breakfast and lunch, technology tools, and school supplies free of charge to all students.
Pre-K programs are provided throughout the district at Cabell County elementary schools and through collaborative programs at local Head Starts, childcare centers, and faith-based schools. Pre-K programs offer a wide range of hands-on learning experiences based on the West Virginia Board of Education’s Early Learning Standards.
In order to be eligible to enroll, students must be:
Four years old prior to July 1, 2026 to enroll in Pre-K
