Feb Teacher of the Month

Guyandotte Elementary is proud to recognize Kylie Kraus as our February Teacher of the Month. This is Kylie’s third year at Guyandotte, and despite a long daily commute, her dedication to our students and school community never wavers.

Kylie genuinely cares about her students and creates an engaging, structured learning environment built on high expectations and strong relationships. She excels in classroom management and serves as a true facilitator of learning, encouraging collaboration, discussion, and productive struggle. Her effectiveness is reflected in student data, with more than average growth in both math and reading on i-Ready.

Kylie is highly collaborative during Walk to Intervention, working closely with Title teachers and her team to ensure instruction responds to student needs. She also goes above and beyond by staying after school to support students with Literature Fair projects and is currently participating in The Writing Rope book study through the Board of Education to strengthen her literacy practices.

Beyond the classroom, Kylie co-founded the Guyandotte Cheer Team with Mrs. Woods. Through this volunteer role, she helps organize practices, choreograph cheers, fundraise, attend games, and support students in building confidence, teamwork, and school pride.

Kylie Kraus truly embodies what it means to be a Guyandotte educator — dedicated, collaborative, and student-centered. We are grateful for her commitment and proud to recognize her as our February Teacher of the Month.
