Bus Drivers Wanted at Cabell County Schools

School Bus Drivers are incredibly important members of any educational team.  They are often the first school staff to greet students in the morning and the last to see them home in the afternoon.  Our team at the Transportation Department not only helps transport students to and from school safely each day but also makes fun experiences like field trips and away sports games possible.  We are grateful for the fantastic team that supports learning and growth in Cabell County Schools.

This summer, due to a number of recent retirements, Cabell County Schools is holding a training event for individuals interested in becoming bus operators.  The District is interested in adding several full-time bus operators to their team. 

Interested applicants will receive FREE training to receive their Commercial Drivers License (CDL) as well as endorsements for carrying passengers and driving a school bus.  Training begins immediately and will continue throughout the summer.

Qualified applicants must:

·         be 21 years of age

·         have three years of driving experience (personal car/truck; NOT CDL)

·         pass a background check, drug screening and Department of Transportation physical

·         be available for training over the summer
