Homeschool Students State Testing Opportunitiies WVGSA and SAT

Cabell County Schools is pleased to offer state testing opportunities for all homeschool students in Grades 3–8 and Grade 11 during the county's testing windows.

Testing Information

· WV General Summative Assessment (GSA):

o Students in Grades 3–8 complete assessments in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics.

o The ELA test includes a writing component.

o Students in Grades 5 and 8 are also assessed in Science.

· SAT School Day:

o Students in Grade 11 complete the College and Career Readiness Assessment (SAT).

o SAT School Day scores can be sent to colleges and universities at no cost.

Important Details

· Deadline to Register: January 15, 2026

· Registration: Visit https://forms.office.com/r/zPqQsq3mK7 to complete registration.

· Cost: All assessments are provided to homeschool students free of charge.

· Testing Arrangements:

o Home-schooled students will be assigned:

1. A location for testing with an approved educator who has completed the required training as an examiner/scribe and signed the WVBE Examiners/Scribes Secure Materials and Test Procedures Agreement (Appendix F).

2. Test dates by the district test coordinator during the testing window.

 Cabell County's Testing Windows:

WV General Summative Assessment (GSA): April 27 – May 8, 2026

SAT/PSAT School Day Test (Grades 9–11): April 6 – April 24, 2026

o The county will contact you through the email, mail, or phone number provided during registration to confirm the exact testing dates.
