We want to update you on the mold remediation progress at Explorer Academy. The company has been on site today and the deep cleaning process has begun. Due to the time required for extensive cleaning and receiving air quality sample results, we anticipate that we will be out of the building at least through the end of next week.

Rather than delaying the start of the school year, we have made the following arrangements for student instruction:

Kindergarten ONLY will have orientation tomorrow Thursday, August 14 in the cafeteria at the Central Office located at 2850 Fifth Ave. Huntington, WV 25702.

The schedule will be as follows:
Last Names A-M from 9:00-10:00am
Last Names N-Z from 10:30-11:30am

We are working with our community partners to make alternate plans for instruction for all students beginning on Friday, August 15. We will reach out with further information as it becomes available.

We appreciate your flexibility and patience. We look forward to working with our students very soon, whether on campus at Explorer Academy or elsewhere in the community.
