Huntington's Christian Garnes Earns Vaughan Fellowship from The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra
Huntington High School student Christian Garnes is one of three high school students in the state to win this year's Vaughan Fellowship from The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra (WVSO)
According to WVSO, "These students will build upon their knowledge and mastery of music by sitting on stage alongside WVSO musicians during rehearsals. They will also meet renowned guest artists during the second half of the Elliot Foundation Symphonic Series and will conduct personal research about the music the WVSO performs."
Garnes and the other two students, Audrey Sundstrom from Parkersburg South High School and Brooke Miller from Hurricane High School, were among three of ten fellowship finalists from across the state. To be an eligible finalist, applicants completed an application that included a personal essay explaining their interest in the program as well as their professional and academic goals and submitted at least two letters of recommendation. Finalists auditioned and interviewed before the fellowship selection committee on January 20, 2023. #cabellsuccess #createyourstorycabell
