Young Illustrators Contest Winners Honored by Reading Council
The Young Illustrators Contest has been sponsored by the Cabell County Reading Council each year for over 25 years. The contest is open to all Cabell County student’s grades Kindergarten through twelfth. One winner was selected per grade level. Students illustrate their favorite book. All entries were judged by artisans in the community as well as art students from Marshall University. The winning illustrator’s art will be framed and put on display at the Huntington Museum of Art.
The winners are:
Natalie Walker, Kindergarten - Meadows Elementary; Braxton Reid, First Grade - Central City Elementary; Jayda Bassett, Second Grade - Central City Elementary; Willow Williamson, Third Grade - Central City Elementary; Bristol McCallister, Fourth Grade - Central City Elementary; Sophie Esque, Sixth Grade - Milton Middle School; Jillene Nixon, Eight Grade - Barboursville Middle School; Lauryn Coffman, Nineth Grade - Huntington High School; Libby Fields, Tenth Grade - Cabell Midland High School
Gabriella Courts, Eleventh Grade - Huntington High School; Campbell Clayborn, Twelveth Grade - Cabell Midland High School
