Cabell County Schools Expands Payment Options for Families with SchoolCash Online

Cabell County Schools is announcing today its implementation of the SchoolCash Online purchasing system for the 2021-2022 school year. This integrated payment system, a product of KEV School Solutions, allows families to pay device insurance fees or to purchase school items utilizing a secure, online portal.

“School Cash Online is a payment processing system that functions technically much like PayPal,” says Drew Rottgen, Treasurer of Cabell County Schools. “Once an individual registers for an account and associates a payment method with that account, they may purchase items the school or district has entered into the system using a credit card, debit card, or a checking account.”

A “Quick Link” to the SchoolCash Online registration and account management portal can be found on the front page of the district’s website,, as well as on the front pages of each of the district’s school websites.

Mr. Rottgen says the SchoolCash Online web portal is encrypted and meets high-quality safety standards, SchoolCash Online is CSAE 3416 and SSAE 16 certified and PCi compliant. Possible examples of items families could pay for utilizing SchoolCash Online might include student learning device insurance fees, parking fees, locker rental fees, or school merchandise and apparel.

“Our schools will be adding more opportunities to pay online as employees and parents become more familiar with operating the system,” adds Rottgen. “While we will accept cash or checks, the preferred method will be School Cash Online going forward. SchoolCash Online allows families who wish to make payments using a credit or debit card an opportunity to do so.”

“SchoolCash Online is just another in a long line of examples of how our public school district is constantly innovating to better meet the needs of families,” says Dr. Ryan Saxe, Superintendent of Cabell County Schools. In all we do, we strive to offer families choices so they can decide what works best for their own students and situations. SchoolCash Online once again gives that decision-making power to families and gives them new tools for supporting student success.”
