At the regular meeting of the Cabell County Board of Education Tuesday, November 17, 2020, Cabell County Schools Superintendent Ryan Saxe presented the board with a document that celebrates the district’s recent accomplishments and establishes the path forward for further improvement.
The Strategic Plan is a comprehensive, “living” document that continually moves the district toward meeting its stated goals for students, which are to:
• “Develop the skills, beliefs, and desire to make positive contributions to society.”
• “Partner with the community to ensure all students are safe and valued.”
• “Instill a sense of responsibility and accountability to our community.”
“By working to meet these goals, the district is striving to realize its vision that every student graduate and that every graduate will be accepted into a career or post-secondary option,” says Superintendent Saxe. “Even during a challenging school year like this one, it is important we keep our focus on providing students the support they need to be successful in school and in life.”
The Strategic Plan divides the district’s improvement efforts into four major focus areas, each containing action steps for making progress in that particular area. These focus areas include Achievement & Growth, Organizational Excellence, Communications & Engagement, and Governance & Trust.
“Every decision we make as a district should be in the best interest of our students,” adds Superintendent Saxe. “The Strategic Plan helps keep us on the right track.”
