At their meeting Monday, February 22, 2021, the Cabell County Board of Education approved the School Year Calendars for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years. The calendars approved were referred to by the district calendar committee as “Calendar D.” Some highlights of these calendars include:
- Spring Break falls the week of March 21-25 both years.
- Avoids ELPA 21 testing window during Marshall University’s Spring Break.
- Avoids SAT School Day Test scheduled for April 17, 2022 and April 9, 2023.
- Both calendars have only two early releases each.
- Four of six Faculty Senate Days each year fall on a Professional Learning Day (full day releases for students).
- The Faculty Senate days that do not fall on a Professional Learning Day are April 15, 2022 and April 7, 2023 (both Good Friday) and May 25, 2022 and May 24, 2023 (both the last day of school).
- First days for students are August 18, 2021 and August 17, 2022.
- Full week off at Thanksgiving both years.
- First semester ends December 23 both years.
- One OS (Outside Environment) day in February and the remaining five at the end of the school year.
- Last days for students are May 25, 2022 and May 24, 2023.
- Last days for 200-day employees are June 3, 2022 and June 2, 2023.
