While learning is taking on a different look and feel for the 2020-2021 school year, the academic growth of students and their social/emotional health remains the focus of every employee of Cabell County Schools, including Superintendent Ryan Saxe.
At a recent meeting, the Cabell County Board of Education approved the Superintendent’s goals for the 2020-2021 school year. These goals, in conjunction with the district’s Strategic Plan, help define the direction the Superintendent, his leadership staff, and district and school employees will take in the coming year.
“I am appreciative of our Board and their approval of my goals for the 2020-2021 school year,” says Superintendent Saxe. “While we have already started to work on many of the strategies detailed, I am excited to continue to focus our team’s efforts toward accomplishing these crucial tasks. I am certain these strategies will ultimately improve learning outcomes for all Cabell County students.”
The four overarching goals of the Superintendent are as follows:
• Achievement and Growth
• District Operations & Capital Improvement Planning
• Organizational Excellence
• Communication & Engagement
“Our board members, administrators and school employees have all worked tirelessly to create school reopening plans that prioritize the health and safety of students and staff while working to meet the academic, social-emotional and nutritional needs of every child,” adds Superintendent Saxe. “Now, given the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we all must continue working as a team to continually improve our processes so that every student can reach their full potential, no matter the learning models being employed by the district.”
