Online Parent Workshop to Explain IEP Process

To help parents better navigate the IEP process, the Cabell County Schools Special Education Department, in partnership with West Virginia Parent Training and Information (WVPTI), will be conducting an online Parent IEP Training Thursday, April 29 at 3:30 PM.

The topic of the workshop is “How to Effectively Become Involved in the IEP Process: A Parent's Focus.”

When a student is made eligible for Special Education, an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is developed to provide that child with supports they require to be successful in the least restrictive environment. For many parents, the IEP process may be unfamiliar, or they may not know how they can actively participate as a team member.
