The Explorer Academy fourth grade Fire Patrol team took home first place from Huntington’s Sixty-Fourth Annual Fire Prevention Parade which took place last month.

“Practicing for the Fire Patrol was a lot of fun! Being a part of this team is an honor since only 15 students were picked. We had to tell why we would be a great member to the team, and we have to prove that every day!” fourth grader Carson Elkins said.

“This team worked tirelessly for weeks practicing their routine for the special event. I am not surprised that they took first place. They deserve it!” said Ashley Gilbert, Musical Director.

“These kids have worked so hard and truly deserve this first place trophy,” Alex Moss, Fire Patrol Advisor, said. “I’m very proud of their dedication!”

“Explorer Academy Fire Patrol has won second place the past two years, so we were practicing hard to make sure we took home first this year,” said Jonathan Lamp, Routine Choreographer.

Thank you to all the parents, staff, and others for their continued support through this amazing endeavor.
