Design Committee Meeting for Culloden Elementary Renovation

Attendance:Chris Litton, Jennifer Sinclair, Chip McMillan, Lisa Sydnor, Vera Miller, Mike O’Dell, David Ferguson, Debbie Smith
A meeting was held with the design committee to discuss the interior and exterior finishes of the Culloden Elementary school renovation project.
Jennifer Sinclair shared with the committee the interior colors for carpets, tiles, fabrics, and walls. The colors will include shades of blue, green, yellow, and plum throughout the halls, offices, classrooms, as well as the media center.
Chris Litton presented the committee with samples of brick for the exterior finish that would tie in with the existing lower wing of the school.Mr. Litton noted that the window(s) at the main entrance would feature bullet resistant glass.
Also noted during the meeting was the plan to take the current newer windows on the front of the school and utilize where the mechanical rooms are presently located, replacing the existing outdated windows. In addition, Mr. O’Dell clarified that the renovation would be bid out with two separate bids, one for the demolition/abatement, and one for the building/construction. Bids are anticipated to go out mid-March or the beginning of April.Clarification was made by Mr. Litton to which entrance of the playground would be used in bringing in the classroom modular units.
The meeting was dismissed with future meetings to be held as needed.
